I was born on 25th October in the year 1999 in West Uyoma location in Rarieda, Siqya county in Nyanza region. My birth was a surprise to many. Some thought it was a liability to the family. Some thought he won't make it. Who can ever tell whether you will be a blessing or not? Can you? Of course you can never tell how your tomorrow will be. Our destiny is in the arms of our maker.

My dad knew I would be great person and the Joseph of his lineage. An heir and peacemaker. You may wonder how I came to know about all these but don't worry about that. The story is just about to begin. My late father took keen interest in me and taught what is best to know before he passed away. My mother took over the wheel to bring me up to whom I am today. All the thanks to her.

The journey continued and I came to know the real me when I turned 17. This was my last year in secondary school, the year 2017. This js the year that I was supposed to sir for national examination. I was optimistic to changing my story and erase the laughter from the the mouths of my enemies. The past school life wasn't a smooth one either. Lack of school fees, no upkeep, nothing good to bag about.

In that fateful year of change I felt seriously sick and was taken to hospital out of severe headache. It became so serious to appoint psychosis. The things I could see was unspeakable. It was something between spiritual nd physical battle. I couldn't allow anyone to come closer to me except for my mother. Others were in the image of dinosaurs, lions, snakes among other wild animals. This may sound crazy but that's what it was. Later I was diagnosed of bacterial meningitis. Unfortunately, it was almost too late to get treated. After sometime I got attended to and the condition was stabilized. I ended up in the same hospital for a total of three months. By then, I had lost my hearing and eyesight. My consciousness was also lost.i could not tell what is happening in my surrounding. We were discharged from the hospital with my mother and brother who had been my all time caretakers. My hospital bill amounted to Ksh. 98,000. All thanks to my former secondary school who raised enough money to aid my treatment. May God bless them for me. At that particular time you may wonder where the other family members and the relatives were. That said all spughts of words but that was their best they could to go let my fight my battles alone.

With time I got to recover when I was at home receiving home based Care. I later realized that it was a transition to live as a person with disability. My sight recovered slowly and I could see images but not clearly. The right eye lost it totally. My hearing was also gone with right ear totally deaf and the left ear was partially damaged. Iost my sight but eeceiymy vision, lost my hearing but received my understanding of my environment. That's when I I came to know whom I was meant to be. Although it took me time to adapt to my new version Iater came to accept and joi Ed Nico Hauser special schoo for the visually impaired where I studies and completed my certificate in security education. Joined go college to study social work to gain the knowledge and skillet to impact the lives of vulnerable persons to live positively and see beyond the obvious.
That is how my life journey has been and I'm still optimistic to transform the lives of many. It is not yet done until it's finished.we have to remain resilient to all the challenges that comes out way and prove to the society that we are who we are and not who they think we are.
